Entry 4 - The Comparison

Online bullying is stated as a form of actions that inflict harm mentally or physically onto others repetitively. Students believe that bullying is teasing taken too far. So why should students understand where teasing is taking too far be considered. Why do students need to see that all forms are bullying. It is crucial for future generations to see that it depends on perspective but it's better to speak up in the end.

Entry 3 - Reviewing Articles

I reviewed articles and after reviewing a lot of them most of them generally go over the same topics: we shouldn't only look at the behavior of the victim but also the bully, its better to speak up then be sorry, and forms of bullying should be taught it school so students can prevent foul actions. After reading the articles I have an understanding that most people believe we should also take the bully into consideration. understand why they commit their actions, why they don't understand their wrong, and that their taking it too far.

Entry 2 - Research

Polls are coming in from the forms and they are very interesting but Im still waiting for more. I have decided to move forth now with y research on articles using the high school date base. I will be reviewing two articles one on bullying and one on people speaking up as well as how adults who are there or others point of view on how to help whoever is receiving this treatment. Using both of these I in hopes want a better understanding so I can come up with a verdict or outline of what I have learned. In the next entry I will go over the products of what i have conducted reviewing the articles and which articles I have chosen.

Entry 1 - The Start

My ultimate goal is to define the line of whether you should speak up or not as described previously in my last post. My first step I am taking is to develop questions I want to survey from people. But what are the best questions? Should I ask "Have you ever been bullied", or "Have you ever snitched on someone". When surveying I should dig deeper so my question should be along the lines of "What is bullying", "What is teasing", "Is teasing bullying", "If you have teased before do you think the other person took it lightly or heavily". These questions help define along the lines of whether you need to speak up. Form for Genius Hour Project

Hi everyone, my name Jalyssa Duttweiler and I'm at senior at Egg Harbor Township High School and will be attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick. For my Genius Hour Project I am going to be researching bullying and the difference between whether you should speak up or handle it on your own or in more simple terms telling vs tattle-tailing.      The reason why I am interested in this topic and want to further research it is because I personally know people who have experienced bullying and have also seen it first hand on others. I have also first hand seen children who tattling and even at my age which is 17 to almost 18 which is considered an adult not handling something simple such as a human interaction maturely an appropriately as their own. Along with seeing bullying I have first hand experience of fellow peers not acting kindly towards me and I also recognize I haven't always been the kindest to others.        My res...
